How We Give Back
We are thrilled to announce Hope Air as our charity of choice for all events associated with the Stage One brands.
The Doherty Family, Stage One Real Estate Team, and Stage One Sound are thrilled to announce that Hope Air has been selected as our charity of choice, becoming the primary benefactor of our future philanthropic efforts.
We first encountered Hope Air by chance a few years ago. Though it was a brief mention, it resonated deeply with us, sparking our interest and curiosity. We are excited now to have aligned all our energy and resources behind this important cause.
Hope Air’s mission is to bridge the gap between home and hospital for Canadians in need, ensuring that access to healthcare is not determined by income or distance. Every Canadian deserves the medical care they need, no matter where they live. “Where you live should not determine if you live.” Ongoing support is vital to ensuring no patient is left behind when it comes to accessing essential medical care.
In 2023 alone, Hope Air provided 25,000 travel arrangements for over 3,000 families and their caregivers, enabling them to reach life-saving healthcare services. In addition to their generous commercial airline partners, travel is also made possible by a remarkable network of volunteer pilots who generously donate their time, expertise and planes to transport patients and their caregivers from rural areas of Canada into urban centres for specialized medical care. We are proud to say that many of these heroic pilots are from our very own Kingston community.
While we’re fortunate to have relatively easy access to major hospitals like Toronto SickKids and CHEO in Ottawa, transportation costs, accommodations, and meal expenses can still pose significant challenges for many families. This is where Hope Air steps in, providing direct support to Canadians nationwide, including those right here in Eastern Ontario.
